We have relaunched the House Plaque Program!
The first 10 qualifying properties will be granted plaques with this launch.
The Woodbridge Township Historic Preservation Commission is currently offering house plaques to historically significant homes in Woodbridge Township. If you feel your home has historical significance and you wish to display a plaque on your home, please complete the application below.
To qualify for this program, we ask that you provide information so we can validate its historic significance. At a minimum, this historic significance can be the building's age. If your home's historic significance is its architectural construction or related to a person or important event, we would like to know but it is not required for this program. The plaque will display the approximate year the home was built and will need to be displayed where the public can easily see it from the street.
Once your application is approved by the HPC, the plaque will be designed and sent to the foundry for production. Plaques are made of a durable metal and are molded in a factory. They last forever.
For a short time, the HPC will sponsor the plaque at no cost to you. However, you will need to affix the plaque to your home yourself or you will need to hire someone to do it for you. The HPC nor the Township will install or cover the costs of the installation of the plaque. Affixing the plaque to your home will place no restrictions on what you can do with your home. The plaque merely lets people know how rich the Township is in its history and how long some of the homes in the Township have been here.
